Testimonial
"As an Australian-born Muslim, I am interested in how Islam and Islamic law is understood and practised by Muslims in contemporary times, particularly in Western countries.
I have been supported financially by the University to undertake fieldwork; to meet and interview Muslims regarding aspects of Islamic divorce in Australia and Britain. I have also met and interviewed prominent public figures such as Professor Tariq Ramadan, Professor Tim Winter and Lord Nazir Ahmed of Britian's House of Lords.
The expertise of the academic staff at the Centre, and the support they have given me, have been invaluable in guiding me in my research."
