Nov 7 & 8 2009: An Introductory Workshop on Faith-Based Counselling with Muslim Communities

An Introductory Workshop on Faith-Based Counselling with Muslim Communities

Muslim psychologists at PsychCentral Psychological and Consulting Services have developed a program for Imams, Muslim community leaders and relevant stakeholders. This program will provide basic counselling skills to enable these stakeholders to respond to the growing needs of a diverse Muslim community. By increasing their counselling and communication skills, these stakeholders will be provided with new tools to better serve the community.

The program will provide an introduction of the Islamic framework for counselling and communication skills in a 2-day workshop. The program is delivered under PsychCentral’s community education partner, Happiness 4 Wellness.

The program is free for Muslims involved within Muslim organisations, or mainstream organisations working with Muslim communities. A maximum of 3 individuals per community or not-for-profit organisation can attend for free.

Course content will be developed by Muslim registered psychologists and staff at PsychCentral.
