
CITY CIRCLE: CHALLENGES FOR RELIGION & FAITH IN THE 21ST CENTURY
Who: Dr Philip Freier, Archbishop Anglican Diocese of Melbourne. Dr Philip Freier was enthroned as Archbishop on 16 December, 2007, in St Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne. He was previously Bishop of the Northern Territory. Raised a Roman Catholic, he trained as a teacher and taught at Thursday Island, and later in North QLD. Prior to his ordination he did theological training, and worked as a missionary to Aborigines. His PhD is on the history of the mission he was working in at Kowanyama, QLD.
